Tonight I escorted a young lady to the Father Daughter Ball held by the Central Texas Fatherhood Initiative. I took Kaleigh last year too and it was fun for all. One big difference this year. NO pictures! Most of you who know me know that I am Mr. Prepared. I always make sure, not only that I have batteries and such, but that I have an extra set too. Not only do you know that about me, you know that I always have a camera handy. I take pictures of everything. Well, much to my surprise, when I turned on the camera at the event tonight to snap a shot of the very unique M&M centerpiece, the batteries died. I took a trip to the car to get my spare set. Upon putting them in the camera and hitting the button, the power did not come on. My spare batteries were dead. For someone like me, someone who takes pictures of everything and never runs out of batteries or memory cards, this is very stressful. I have exactly one photo from the whole evening to show off to those who couldn't be there. One. You want to see that one picture? That one, not worth the tiny bit of extra juice that the batteries had left picture? Here it is. Enjoy it.

So sorry about that, Matt. If you ever need any counseling about this, I have a few numbers to give you.
